Joanie founded her agency, Cavanaugh Creative, three years ago to create powerful brands, drive marketing strategy, and lead creative teams to do their best work. She is passionate about helping businesses and organizations improve visibility, increase their impact and achieve their goals. With 20 years of experience, Joanie is a valued partner to her clients.

Before she launched Cavanaugh Creative, Joanie was regional vice president of marketing and communications for Dignity Health, overseeing four hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area. At Dignity, she opened new facilities, lead system-wide campaigns across 40 hospitals, and worked with numerous agency and media partners, consistently raising awareness and increasing revenue for the brand.

Clients include Stanford Medicine | Medical Center Development, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, UCSF Health, Dignity Health Foundation, Sequoia Hospital Foundation, Climate Leadership Initiative, Samaritan House, and I Have A Dream Foundation.

As former co-founder and creative director of LOOK Agency, an award-winning advertising, branding and marketing company, Mary brings 25 years of diverse industry experience to the Cavanaugh Creative agency team. She has worked with some of the world’s largest global brands, businesses of all sizes, and many regional nonprofits.

Mary’s passion to harness the power of strategic creative in order to achieve her clients’ business goals has resulted in consistently delivering creative execution that exceeds expectations.

Her driving force is curiosity, empathy and a deep sense of responsibility to her clients. She loves getting inside her clients’ brands and living their challenges and opportunities together.

Robin is a designer with a passion for honest design and strategic design thinking. With over twelve years of agency experience working with brands of all sizes, she brings a thoughtful approach to her projects, whether it’s developing a brand from scratch, producing beautiful print work, creating elegant WordPress sites, designing engaging email campaigns, or building coherent digital presentations.

Clients include the Phillips Brooks School, Mark Day School, Santa Clara County Health, Lahlouh, Hatch, Visa, Preserve West Capital, and Parum Leo Wine.


Jennifer Hoover


Jennifer is a graphic designer who sees creative possibility everywhere she goes. Turning sparks of inspiration into memorable brands and modern designs that are smart and effective is her passion. She holds an M.F.A. in Graphic Design and has over 20 years of collective experience in the areas of identity and brand development, print and package design, art direction, production management, marketing and client services. She is able to apply this depth of knowledge to her design approach; working with startups, non-profits and companies such as Disney Store, Restoration Hardware, Toss Designs, Samaritan House, Smith & Hawken and Banana Republic.

Kristina is a highly creative, efficient and extremely organized project manager with 10 years of agency and tech experience. Her areas of expertise include web design and development, email campaigns, media kit and presentation development, account management, and digital marketing. Kristina has worked with a wide variety of clients including Visa, U.S. Bank, Santa Clara County Health System, Samaritan House, Lahlouh, and United Way Bay Area.

Janelle McGlothlin puts words to work! In over 25 years marketing to consumers and businesses, she has developed product and corporate names, built creative strategies, and written extensively for companies of every size, in virtually every industry—from technology, healthcare, and financial services, to non-profits, education, and entertainment. For every client she works with, she focuses on getting the greatest possible brand impact from every written and spoken word.

Prior to moving to the creative side, Janelle worked in marketing management in the medical and outdoor industries. She holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Strategic Management from the Wharton School of Business.

She has particular expertise in maximizing fundraising productivity for both annual and capital campaigns, with a special focus on major gifts.

Before joining Cavanaugh Creative, Megan was the California central coast regional senior director of marketing and communications for Dignity Health overseeing five hospitals, more than 40 physician offices, and more than a dozen outpatient centers. Her portfolio includes NBC affiliate KNBN-TV, CBS affiliate KCOY-TV, CHW, Dignity Health, CommonSpirit Health, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.
