Joanie Cavanaugh is a creative strategist, marketing and communications professional, and all-around problem solver. As president and founder of Cavanaugh Creative Group, she brings a successful track record and 20 years of experience, energy, and enthusiasm to her work and clients.
Joanie builds brands and leads creative teams. Her background is diverse, with a career spanning across fine arts and publishing to health care and nonprofits.
Joanie is currently working with Stanford Medicine | Medical Center Development. Prior to that she was regional vice president of marketing and communication for Dignity Health. She also volunteers on two nonprofit marketing committees: Samaritan House and I Have A Dream Foundation.
She enjoys meeting new people, building relationships, working with teams, and creating solutions. In her work, Joanie has collaborated with numerous agency and media partners. Now, she offers her clients access to this large network.
Always in a creative role, Joanie spent her early career as a children’s book author, illustrator and designer. Her publishers include Harcourt, Scholastic, Grolier Children’s Press, and Macmillan McGraw-Hill. She holds a BFA and MFA from Boston University and was awarded a Stoeckel Fellowship to Yale University.
